We are excited and proud to present you the Candidate Board for the upcoming academic year! On Tuesday the 29th of April at 10:51, the 51st Candidate Board of Study Association Stress has officially been announced. They will now give you a short introduction about themselves
Natalia Bielecka - Chairwoman
Hi! My name is Natalia Bielecka, I’m 20 years old and I come from Poland from a city called Białystok. I moved to Enschede to study IEM and now I’m excited to have a chance to take on the role of Chairwoman of the 51th Board of Stress!
You might already know me from the Stress Congress committee and EventsCie from the year before. Lately, I started singing in the Stress band, what I enjoy a lot (make sure to stop for the End-of-the-year BBQ to hear us live:)) During my time at Stress, I’ve also been involved in committees like EventCie and the Stress Congress and I’m definitely looking forward to using that experience to help organise some more amazing events this year:)
Outside of Stress, I have quite a few hobbies that keep me busy. I’ve been doing ballroom and Latin dancing for eight years, but I also enjoy being active in general - running, sailing, skiing, and playing volleyball are all things I enjoy whenever I get the chance.
I’m really enthusiastic about getting to know all of you, so feel free to drop by the Stress room for a little chat.
Lennard Köhne - Secretary and Public Relations
I’m Lennard, from the amazing city of Bremen, Germany. After graduating from an international school where every subject was taught in English, I knew I wanted to keep studying in that language. Discovering Industrial Engineering & Management at the University of Twente felt like the perfect fit, and it brought me to Enschede in 2023.
From the Kick-In on, I fell in love with Stress. I started out in MediaCie, moved on to become the Treasurer and responsible for the Logistics for the Stress Congress, and have loved every challenge along the way.
In my free time, you’ll usually find me sharing a few beers with friends, carving through the countryside on a motorcycle tour with my dad, pushing the pace on a racing-bike ride with my parents and my girlfriend or battling it out on the Tennis or Padel courts. I’ve even started running recently, thanks to Stress’s half-marathon initiative. (I only ran the 10k of course)
Now I’m thrilled to serve as Secretary & Commissioner of Public Relations on the 51st Candidate Board of Stress. My inbox is always open, so if you have questions, ideas, or bold proposals, just drop me a mail. And as the PR guy, I’ll be heart-broken if the carefully crafted posts float by unnoticed, so (from now on) please give them a glance, and maybe even a like 🙂
Joost op 't Veld - Treasurer
My name is Joost, and I am 20 years old. I am originally born in Amsterdam and I was raised in London and Nieuw-Vennep. I moved to Enschede in 2022 to start studying IEM. But as we all know, studying is hard and passing exams might be even more difficult, so i quit after the first half year. But I could not leave Stress behind, so I started studying IEM again in 2023.
You possibly have seen me around the Stress room or know me from the EventCie of this year. We organized the very nice Christmas dinner (with to little food according to some Candidate Board member(s)) and the Ginza all-you-can-eat event. You might notice a trend in these events I like nice dinners.
Outside of Stress, I have some hobbies that keep me busy. I’ve been playing hockey for 15 years, but I also enjoy being active in general - running, riding my bike, skiing, and going to Spain whenever I get the chance.
I’m really excited about the opportunities to get to know all of you and make new memories
Maud Punte - Internal Affairs
Hey! My name is Maud and I am 20 years old. I was born and raised in the beautiful small village next to Enschede, which is Lonneker. Currently I am in my second year of IEM and the candidate commissioner of Internal Affairs.
I started being active in my first year in the PartyCie, which was nice to get to know people around stress. In my second year I joined the PilsCie, which is a great committee. Because that is the reason that you can drink beer at the stress drinks :). I am also in the KIDS committee now, which is fun as well. So hopefully we can make a great Kick In this year with each other.
In my spare time I like to play tennis and watch a lot of other sports. Especially going to FC Twente in the beautiful Grolsch Veste with my friends is something I always really look forward to. Besides that, I like to have fun with my friends and housemates. Every Wednesday I enjoy the evening with my fraternity SIGMA and have some drinks with them.
I am looking forward to see you in the Stress Room and get to know everyone (better)!
Tristan Ettema - External Affairs
Hey!
My name is Tristan, I am 20 years old and at the moment I am in the second year of IEM. For me the choice of the UT was fairly easy since I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Enschede.
This was my first year of being active at Stress and I had a great time organizing amazing events such as the Christmas dinner with the EventCie. After these experiences I am excited to take on new challenges as Commissioner of External Affairs of the 51st Candidate Board of Stress.
Besides studying I am passionate about sports. I play korfball, ride my bike, do some running and playing football, I also enjoy watching sports on television or live. Other than that I like drinking a beer and having a great time with friends.
I’m looking forward to seeing you in the Stress room!
Kirvy Avila - Educational Affairs
Hola! My name is Kirvy, I am 24 years old, born and raised in Panama which is a small country in Central America in the middle from Colombia and Costa Rica. Next September, I will put a pause to my studies to serve this wonderful association as the commissioner of educational affairs. I will also have the vice function of internal affairs helping Maud in her tasks. Furthermore, I will be responsible for International Affairs making sure the international community of our association is represented.
During the Kick-In, I had the privilege of joining the Do-Group MayDay. During this time, I met some wonderful active members of Stress that later inspired me to be active which is a decision that to this day, I do not regret at all! My activism in Stress started by joining the StressTrip committee and planning a fun trip to the Hungarian capital: Budapest. I also joined the Almanac committee in charge of designing the yearbook and currently, I am part of the KIDS committee which organises part of the Kick-In programme.
In my free time, I like to play videogames, watch Real Madrid win everything (not this year sadly 🙁 ) , go out for cocktails with friends and sometimes, go running in the Hengelosestraat.
I am looking forward to this candidate period, see you soon in the Stress room!
